Barack Obama is just weeks away from being out of office, and he can’t stop gloating about how great his presidency has been. He’s been giving tons of interviews and speeches, all of them bragging about his many imagined accomplishments. And he thinks he deserves a giant “thank you” from the American people.
Obama set off on another taxpayer-funded vacation to Hawaii, making sure to squeeze one more trip in before he’s out of office. But before he left, he gave a press conference claiming that there hadn’t been any terrorist attacks since he took office.
There was the Pulse nightclub shooting, which Obama tried to claim was motivated by homophobia, when in actuality, Omar Mateen had also pledged his allegiance to ISIS, and had scouted other locations besides just gay nightclubs to carry out his attack.
Obama has apparently forgotten about all of these terrorist attacks… or he just wants to pretend they didn’t happen so he can claim that no terrorism happened on his watch.
As if that wasn’t bad enough, Obama also bragged about how the economy is doing “better than ever”. But that doesn’t quite match reality, either. The job participation rate is only 62.7 percent, with 43.6 million Americans on food stamps — up 36.2 percent since 2009 — and the home ownership rate is the lowest rate since 1967. Obama also doubled the national debt to more than $19 trillion. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, where all of this information comes from, one in five households has a member of the family not working, but actively looking for a job.
It’s about time Obama is leaving office. We don’t need such a clueless braggart in the Oval Office.
