From Mad world News: A Pennsylvania couple, receiving state aid, has been arrested after authorities made a heinous discovery in their home.
According to WPXI, Kimberly and Jarrod Tutko Sr. are facing homicide charges after they allegedly starved their 9-year-old special needs son to death in July. The boy’s decomposing body was found in the couple’s Harrisburg home just days after he had died, investigators said.
PennLive reports that the couple had a history of abuse and neglect towards their children that dated back to before the boy’s birth. On Monday, Harrisburg police filed criminal homicide charges against the couple saying that their neglect led to Jarrod Jr.’s death.
Both parents were well aware of the horrid conditions inside the boy’s room, including the walls and floors being covered in feces, a light that didn’t work, no furniture at all except for a television, and a doorknob that locked from the outside.
The couple allegedly locked the boy in his bedroom and refused to feed him, causing severe starvation and ultimately his death. Police said the boy weighed just 17 pounds when he died, and that his body was found in the feces-covered room in their home.
The Tutkos have five other children as well, all of which have been taken into custody by Dauphin County Children Youth and Family Services.
With any kind of luck, these two will get locked up with the key thrown away for good. Anyone who would do such a thing to a child deserves no less.
What would you do if you could punish these people?
