WELCOME TO OBAMA’S AMERICA: What Navy SEALs are being forced to do now is DESPICABLE

Published

on

From Allen B West

The priorities of the Obama administration when it comes to our U.S. military are absolutely delusional. The focus is on social egalitarianism and “fairness,” not on operational readiness and effectiveness. At a time when we just had ten American Sailors on their knees at gun point detained by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy…Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus was sending out memos to the Commandant of the Marine Corps and Chief of Naval Operations to ensure all duty positions in their forces are gender neutral. We recently reported here that the U.S. Army budget included the affirmation of Soldiers being able to “self-identify.”

We’ve also shared the inane unilateral decision by Secretary of Defense Ashton Carter to open up all combat duty positions to females in the military and you might recall, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Joe Dunford, did not stand with the SecDef for that announcement. This is what President Obama deems important as our commander in chief, and we haven’t even discussed the case of Army 1LT Clint Lorance, held in Ft. Leavenworth for charges of premeditated murder while Obama releases Islamic jihadist murderers from GITMO.

And here is the most recent — and disturbing — episode to come from the Obama administration. As reported by Stripes.com, “The general in charge of U.S. Special Operations Command said Tuesday that he is looking into claims that Navy SEALs and other elite forces have shortages of key equipment.

Gen. Joseph Votel assured House lawmakers that the command will resolve any problems that it discovers in equipping special operators, such as a lack of service weapons, in preparation for increasingly common missions around the world. Rep. Duncan Hunter, R-Calif., and other House lawmakers raised the alarm earlier this month on supply shortages in the special operations community, causing soldiers to dip increasingly into their own pockets to purchase basic military gear such as helmets, global positioning devices and medical supplies.

Most concerning, according to Hunter, is SEALs are now asked to hand over their personalized weapons after returning from deployment so they can be handed off to other SEALs who are deploying.

“I look forward to talking to Navy Special Warfare Command about this specific issue and make sure we understand it,” said Votel, who was testifying to members of the House Armed Services Committee. “If there is something that we are contributing to that is impacting the readiness of our operators, we’ll certainly take immediate actions to kind of correct that.” Votel said the issue might be related to maintenance and the high usage of SEAL weapons.”

This comes as the House Armed Services Committee (HASC) is hearing testimony as part of the development of the Fiscal Year 2017 National Defense Authorization Act. I’ve also heard back channel chatter about our Warriors having to purchase much of their own gear. In the past I’ve had some parents confide in me that they’ve been purchasing gear for their loved ones deployed – folks, this is unconscionable.

Even the rumor that we have U.S. Navy SEALS “hot cotting” — which means they are handing over and sharing — individual weapons is beyond belief. An individual weapon is calibrated to that individual; it’s called “zeroing” a weapon. And Gen. Votel’s explanation is rather confusing.

If there’s an issue with weapons maintenance due to high usage, then where are the backfill weapons? Does this mean a unit can’t go into a dangerous operational readiness rate because there aren’t enough personal weapons to go around?

The excuse of high usage makes no sense whatsoever. Imagine if there was a mortar or an artillery howitzer a firing an excessive number of rounds in support of combat operations. You don’t just pull that piece off the line for maintenance and tell the crew to share another. I can attest that the goal is to have “float” pieces in the theater to back fill. And so, if our SEALS are returning from a combat deployment, there should be adequate weapons to ensure each member in the team has an assigned weapon.

Now, onto the issue of SEALS having to purchase basic military gear from their own pockets. I experienced the same thing during my time as a battalion executive officer at Ft. Bragg during the Clinton administration. I remember the priority then being on “midnight basketball” programs. There were times when our troops purchased repair tools out of their own pockets.

Ladies and gents, this is what a presidential debate should be discussing — not the obnoxious topics we’ve had to endure, like hand size and perspiration.

I remember talking with senior leaders who had endured the years of the Carter administration and the degradation of our military operational readiness capability. Sadly, it appears history is repeating itself. Consider this: how much will the military have to spend in order to accommodate the mandates of Ash Carter? Facilities will have to be built, improved, how much? And should those funds be used to ensure our Warriors have plenty of weapons being produced and serviced at the depot so this dire situation is reversed?

This is all highly disconcerting, and it should be a topic du jour of the GOP presidential candidates. Once again, I give a special hat tip to the HASC for doing exactly what they’re supposed to do: conduct Congressional oversight of the executive agency under their jurisdiction — the Defense Department. I hope other committees are doing the same in the authorization phase before the appropriation phase.

As for you, our loyal and engaged readers, if you know of specific instances of our men and women in our military having to purchase their own gear and equipment, let us know. We’ll pass the information on to my former colleague, Chairman Mac Thornberry of the HASC and make sure it gets his attention.

Unbelievable… and FUBAR!

Say What? The Bergdahl Saga Isn’t Over Yet? Yikes!

Chuck Yarling

Last week, Judge Col. Jeffrey Nance convicted Sgt. Robert Bowdrie (“Bowe”) Bergdahl’ of two charges of one count of “desertion with intent to shirk important or hazardous duty” and one count of “misbehavior before the enemy by endangering the safety of a command, unit or place.”. For these two charges which Bergdahl could have received up to life in prison. However, Judge Nance gave him:

No jail time for his desertion, be dishonorably discharged from the military, his rank lowered to private (E-1), and pay a fine of $10,000.

Veterans freaked. But the saga isn’t over yet.

The New York Times is reporting Bergdahl’s sentence will be reviewed by Gen. Robert B. Abrams, who convened the court-martial and has the power to lessen the punishment.

According to the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ):

If the sentence is a dishonorable discharge, bad conduct discharge, dismissal (if you are an officer), confinement for at least a year, or death, your case will automatically be reviewed by a military court of appeal.

In this case, the appellate court is the Army Court of Criminal Appeals. The court has the power to reverse convictions that are either legally or factually insufficient, and to reduce sentences that they deem to be inappropriately severe.

Needless to say, this sentence doesn’t even approach a slap on the wrist, so any reduction will most likely not happen. Unless, that is, Bergdahl’s plan is to have the court overturn the sentence entirely. Based on the trial, that wil probably not happen either.

However, because Bergdahl’s sentence contains a dishonorable discharge, he may also appeal his sentence to the Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces.

So there you have it: review by Gen. Robert B. Abrams; automatic appeal to the Military Court of Appeal; and possible review by Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces.

And most of us thought the Bergdahl saga was over. Stay tuned…

Traitor Bergdahl About To Receive a Major Award That Will Make Your Blood Boil – This Must Be Stopped

Published

on

Most Americans are still livid over the news of Obama’s little pet Bowe Bergdahl walking out of a courtroom last week a completely free man, after receiving zero punishment for joining the Taliban and subsequently getting 6 members of his unit killed. While we all wonder just what the hell is going on in our country where it’s now acceptable behavior in our military to abandon their posts and hook up with terrorists, Bowe Berghdal’s lawyer still isn’t quite done sticking it to Americans. The demand he’s now making on his client’s behalf is so outrageous it will make you want to punch through a freaking wall and call it a day.

Obama hugs it up in the Rose Garden with the Muslim Converts and parents of Bowe Bergdahl

Back in the good old days, we used to publicly execute traitors. Fast forward to today, and not only are these treasonous morons traded for GITMO terrorists and then free to go on with their lives, but they’re awarded freaking medals for their treasonous and disgusting behavior. You heard that right. If Berghdal’s lawyer gets his way, several shiny new medals will soon be swinging from Berghdal’s neck, replacing what should actually be there, like a newly-woven rope.

According to American Newshub:

After outrageously being allowed to walk free of his desertion charges, the lawyer for traitorous Army Sergeant Bowe Bergdahl now wants the Pentagon to award him with some of the service medals he would have been eligible for if he had served with honor.

Early this month the traitorous American soldier who escaped to join the Taliban but was held against his will for five years afterward was let off the hook by a military judge. Despite not being convicted of desertion or treason, Bergdahl was given a dishonorable discharge and allowed to walk free without jail time.

The judge’s decision was so outrageous that even a Democrat Congressperson was driven to slam the move.

Hawaii Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D) was a supporter of Bernie Sanders during the 2016 Democrat primaries, but she was no supporter of Bergdahl’s soft treatment.

But now that Bergdahl has essentially been allowed to go without any meaningful punishment, his lawyer is brazenly demanding that Bergdahl be awarded military medals.

Not only does Bergdahl’s civilian lawyer, Eugene Fidell, think that the traitorous soldier should have his dishonorable discharge reversed, he also thinks Bergdahl should be awarded a POW medal.

“We have long felt he was entitled to the POW medal,” Fidell said, according to USA Today.

The Prisoner of War medal is given to any soldier who “was taken prisoner and held captive” while in military service.

Of course, Bergdahl deserted his post on his own. His being grabbed by the Taliban is incidental because the traitor had already abandoned his service before being “captured.”

Still, during his trial, his defense team even insisted that he should get the POW medal so that it wouldn’t look like the government was biased against him — a weak claim if there ever was one.

In January of last year his military defense team demanded he be awarded his medals, too.

Accodring to Military.com:

A military lawyer representing accused deserter Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl called for the Army to award his client several medals, including the Purple Heart and the Prisoner of War medal, during a pre-trial hearing Tuesday.

“We believe this is a prejudice and casts a semblance of guilt,” Rosenblatt said, noting Bergdahl was wearing his dress Blue Army uniform, including a Combat Infantryman Badge and 10 overseas service bars. “We encourage the government to correct that.”

In addition to the Purple Heart and POW Medal, Rosenblatt told Army judge Col. Jeffrey R. Nance, Bergdahl should be awarded the Afghanistan Campaign Medal and the NATO medal during the hearing that largely focused on the defense’s ability to access classified material related to Bergdahl’s case.

If this treasonous POS actually gets a military medal for his “service,” I will publicly hold a bonfire and burn every last one of my military medals I received overseas as an act of defiance because these medals obviously mean nothing if traitors to America are awarded them.

What the hell is going on in our country? The only thing that belongs around Bowe Bergdahl’s neck is a freaking rope!

You Missed The 2017 Invictus Games? What A Shame!

Chuck Yarling

Published

So what are the Invictus Games? “The games were
founded in 2014 by the United Kingdom’s Prince Harry, are based on the United States’ concept of the Warrior Games and are designed to use the power of sport to inspire recovery, support rehabilitation, and generate a wider understanding of, and respect for, those who serve their country and their loved ones.”

The 2017 Invictus Games were played from September 23-30, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. This is the third event of its kind.

Prince Harry opened the year’s games with an address that included his hopes for the athletes and attendees:

“In the days ahead, I know many of you will experience Invictus for the first time. I hope you are ready,” he continued. “I hope you are ready for some fierce competition. I hope you are ready to see the meaning of teamwork, the proof that anything is possible when we work together. I hope you are ready to see courage and determination that will inspire you to power through the challenges in your own life. I hope you are ready to see the role models in action that any parent would want their children to look up to. And I hope you’re ready to see lives changing in front of your eyes.”

During the 2017 games, over 500 athletes from 17 nations around the world played in 12 sports: archery, athletics, cycling, driving challende, gold, indoor rowing, powerlifting, sitting volleyball, swimming, wheelhair basketball, wheelchair rugby, and wheelchair tennis.

There were ninety men and women who were either active duty personnel or veterans representing four of our five military forces: Army, Air Force, Navy, and Marines.

Tony Kurta, performing the duties of undersecretary of defense for personnel and readiness, said,

“The 2017 Invictus Games embody the spirit of every member of the United States Armed Forces. They inspire us with their strength, resilience and personal courage. We are proud to recognize the athletes at the 2017 Invictus Games for their tremendous achievements, while we honor each and every wounded guardian who achieves victories every day through Department of Defense adaptive reconditioning programs.”

Amen to that!
